BACP Registered Psychotherapist

I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I was awarded a Distinction in my Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy (UEL). I spent the first 5 years building my practice in London, before relocating to Bristol.

I have experience in working with both adults and young people on an individual basis who are suffering with a variety of issues and difficulties.

I have a wide variety of experience, from bereavement, depression, anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, negative childhood experiences, relationship and sexual issues, to work related issues and substance abuse.

My main goal is to help you on your path to a happier life, and to equip you with the tools you need, so you can benefit from our sessions long after our time together has ended. Whether you are considering therapy at a time of crisis, or as a way to address an ongoing issue, I hope to help you find a better, happier, more hopeful path through life.

How I work

I offer a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space for you to talk through your problems and difficulties.

I am an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a variety of therapeutic techniques from different schools of psychotherapy depending on how I think I can help you best.

I offer therapy in two different settings. Traditional counselling takes place as you’d expect, in a private room in my practice. Movement therapy takes place outside, in a variety of locations around Bristol. You can stick to just one type of therapy for the duration of our work together, or if we decide it's appropriate, you can switch between the two.

My beliefs

For many people, working with a therapist can be a completely life changing experience. My concern is that some people are missing out on the benefit of this experience as they are not comfortable in the therapy room. For others, they may find working therapeutically outside is more beneficial than the traditional setting..

I am passionate about how being outside and moving can have an immensely positive impact on your emotional well-being. Combining this with counselling and psychotherapy can help you work through your problems more effectively, and give you lifelong tools to continue to cope after our therapeutic work has ended,

The physical act of moving reflects the emotional journey that you embark on when you come to therapy, moving into a more positive part of your life. I have personally experienced these emotional health benefits, and I am passionate about helping others find benefit from it too. Whether that’s through running or walking therapy sessions, or by helping people use nature and the outside world in between our sessions inside, my main goal is to help you move forwards in a way that works for you, long term.

Credentials

I have over 7 years client experience, covering a wide variety of issues. I gained a Distinction in my Postgraduate Diploma from the well-established University of East London. This was an integrative psychotherapy course meaning that a variety of skills and techniques were taught, from a variety of schools of thought. I believe this kind of diverse training means my work with you is adaptable and can be tailored to best suit your individuals needs.
